About Me

Captain Hayley and Me.
There’s not much to tell to be honest. I’m a pretty boring person at the moment. Let’s see, I love my furbabies like some people love their kids and enjoy spending time with my mom more than anyone. Yeah, I guess that makes me a mama’s girl but my mom’s pretty special.

I love to be entertained but I’m particular about my entertainment preferences. I love imaginative stories, and fantastic settings. I have a fondness for The Lord of the Rings movies, Pirates of the Caribbean movies, well the first three anyway, MARVEL movies which satisfies my love of superhero stories as well as for sarcastic humor.

I don’t watch a whole lot of tv because I don’t care for reality shows but I do love watching Blindspot, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, old episodes of NCIS (Ziva is my spirit animal), and I rely on reruns (or my own collections) of older shows like M*A*S*H, Frasier, Reba, Roswell, Designing Women, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and Angel among others.

Back to the furbaby bit, I have two cutie cats that I’m very allergic to (I lost one beautiful cat July 2, 2017 so now I just have two.), and after losing my best friend Mr. Pud in August of 2016, I met and fell in love with Hayley, aka Captain Hayley Terror of the Seven Seas. I know Mr. Pud must have had a paw in choosing her because she’s… Something else. I could go on and on about Mr. Pud’s impact on my life and how much I love my babies but then we’d be here forever. I was also very lucky to have experienced life with a wonderful little silky terrier named Cooper. We didn't have him very long before he passed away but he made such a big impact on our lives that we hope to have another silky terrier in the future.

So why romance novels right? Well, I’m a naturally pessimistic person and tend not to buy into the “fairytales” in real life. They’re a nice thought but kind of like the tooth fairy but when you vibe with the right kind of author then you can all but live the possibility of adventure, danger, and grand, sweeping gestures of love with the person of your deepest dreams. Not to mention, life is tough and a good romance helps you escape reality where it can be doom and gloom into a world where no matter how bad it gets there’s always light at the end of the tunnel and love in your future.

And I guess to kind of entertain you, some random things about me.

I’m a foodie. Like, seriously motivated by food. I have been bribed to do things like go to the mall during the Christmas shopping season by the promise of food. I’ve also been bribed to spend time with people with food. Apparently these are called parties, or friendly gatherings. Whatever. I came. I saw. I ate. I left. *shudders*

I like to eat mashed potatoes with brown gravy, sunflower seeds, and bacon mixed in. Made for some interesting looks when I was a kid at buffets.

I don’t like seafood. At all. It triggers a gag reflex. #SoundedDirty

As you can probably guess, I don’t “people” well. I have a very introverted personality along with a sizable dose of social anxiety that makes it difficult for me to make friends. Also, I’m a boring person; I have nothing interesting to say most of the time or nothing in common with most people my age. I love my alone time where I can read or lay down with Hayley the Horrible.

I hate summer. Like, with a passion. I hate the heat, I hate too much sunshine, and I hate the bugs. I actually am part of the like 1% of people who experiences seasonal depression in the summer rather than in the winter. If the temperature is above 90 degrees Fahrenheit, I have a problem with it. I'm a winter girl all the way. Give me those cold temps and I'm a happy person!

I was diagnosed with depression at 14 and severe anxiety at 22.

I'm not a kid person. I don't really like them, I never have. At 8 I said I was never having kids and lo and behold, at 32 I haven't doubted my life choice for a single second.

I like to walk in the rain. Not a down pour but those days where it's raining enough to get you a little wet (#SoundedEvenDirtier), but not enough to where you'll catch pneumonia.

I love dairy products even though I'm lactose intolerant.

When I eat ice cream I like to let it melt a bit to like, milk shake consistency before I'll eat it.

My favorite food is pasta.

When it comes to arts and crafts, I'm artsy, but I lose my temper with crafts. My mom is the opposite, she can craft like a maniac but art? She'll cry.

While you will hardly ever find me without my cell phone I HATE talking on it. Like with the fire of a thousand suns.

  1. Adria, this is Christy from the Book Reviewer Yellow Pages. You posted a listing on Book Blogs to be included in the book, but I don't have contact information for you, and there is no e-mail listed on your blog.

  2. Adria, sorry to comment here; I was trying to comment on the Lovestruck comment area. Unfortunately, it wouldn't let me comment - I imagine that has been a common problem since there are few comments. I was given a message saying that I was being forced to use "Legacy" mode which isn't compatible with my computer. I love your site. michelle_willms@yahoo.com

I love hearing from you and will always try to get back to each and every one of you as soon as I can. If you have a blog, leave a link so I can stop by and say "Hello!"
