Adria Picks: Romance Series That Will Make You Swoon

I have lists for EVERYTHING all over the place. I have music playlists on my phone, iPod, and Kindle. I have HANDWRITTEN lists in two journals and on scrap pieces of paper. Some of my lists are funny or straight up weird so I thought Why not share them?. Maybe they’ll be good for a laugh or maybe you’ll want to start up your own list of lists.

Today’s List: Ten Romance series that will make you swoon

I’ve really been struggling with the romance genre lately, a lot of bandwagon jumping and getting lazy with details is plaguing many of my former favorites. So I’m going back to some of my favorites and if you’re looking for something awesome to read I suggest these series.

Victorian Rebels by Kerrigan Byrne. It’s a darker themed romance where villains are heroes and heroes are damaged.

Killer Instincts by Elle Kennedy. THE best romantic suspense series by far. The men are tough and the women are tougher. I love all the action, suspense, and chemistry in these books. Not all of them are five star but the series is so good you can overlook the ones that aren’t.

The Hathaways by Lisa Kleypas. An odd ball family tossed into the peerage and each of them finds love with the most unconventional people. I have a soft spot for this family, they’re so different, and endearing that you just want to keep coming back over and over again.

Maiden Lane series by Elizabeth Hoyt. I will never tire of re-reading this series. The oddest characters pop up and of course there’s the Georgian version of The Dark Knight running around saving people, yeah, definitely one of the best historical romance series out there. Hoyt actually takes time to make the period as believable as possible without turning it into a snooze fest.

Demonica series by Larissa Ione. Oh be still my heart but Ione writes the most fantastic paranormal romances ever. Humor, wit, chemistry, and plots that will have you going “Sh*t I didn’t see that coming” are the best gift this author can give readers. I challenge you to narrow down your list of favorite characters to just three. I’ll wait.

The School for Heiresses by Sabrina Jeffries. One youthful mistake and years later, Mrs. Charlotte Harris ends up opening a school for young heiresses to help them avoid making the same mistakes she did. Each book is a standalone but they also build up the mystery of Charlotte’s past and her current connection to her mysterious benefactor, “Cousin Michael.” This series is a fun way to pass the time and you’re bound to have a favorite. Or two.

SWAT: Special Wolf Alpha Team by Paige Tyler. An ongoing series about a group of alpha werewolves (alpha females too so yay) functioning together as an elite SWAT team in Dallas. The series has expanded quite a bit since the first book but I enjoy each one very much. The close knit bond that the group shares is one of the most appealing aspects.

The O’Malleys by Katee Robert. Looking for a mafia romance? Look no further, the dark themes in this series will keep you at the edge of your seat. Robert doesn’t skimp on the heat factor either, so load up on that ice water. You’ll need it.

Midnight Breed series Lara Adrian. This series started out small a few years back and has expanded to where the timeline is now including the children of the original group of immortal warriors. While I’ll always have my favorites among the original group, I’m enjoying reading about their children (Seriously, you have to read it to find out how these vamps can have kids) who are displaying some really cool powers.

Heartbreaker Bay series by Jill Shalvis. I love a group of truly close friends and this series has it in spades. I may pick up each book for the romance but I stay for the friendships.
