Adria Picks: Favorite Lines from Game of Thrones (NSFW)

I have lists for EVERYTHING all over the place. I have music playlists on my phone, iPod, and Kindle. I have HANDWRITTEN lists in two journals and on scrap pieces of paper. Some of my lists are funny or straight up weird so I thought Why not share them?. Maybe they’ll be good for a laugh or maybe you’ll want to start up your own list of lists.

Today’s List: Favorite Lines from Game of Thrones

Both the books and the tv series are a hotbed of pretty epic lines. Some are snarky, some are mic drop worthy, and some have a heavy dose of wisdom that can be applied to every day life.

The man who passes the sentence should swing the sword. - Ned Stark explaining why he had to be the one to execute a Night’s Watch deserter to his son Bran.

No. That’s not me. - Arya to her father Ned while they discuss her future and he says she will marry a high lord and have children.

When you play the game of thrones, you win or you die. There is no middle ground. - Cersei to Ned Stark when he confronts her about her relationship with Jamie.

Yes. All men must die, but we are not men. - Daenerys to Missandei when the two discuss going into war and possibly dying.

Never forget what you are. The rest of the world will not. Wear it like armor, and it can never be used to hurt you. - Tyrion’s advice to Jon Snow about being a bastard.

Tell Cersei. I want her to know it was me. - Olenna Tyrell’s final words to Jamie Lannister in which she confesses to being the one to orchestrate Joffrey’s murder, not Sansa Stark.

Power is power. - Cersei Lannister demonstrating that she has all the power over Petyr Baelish who subtly hinted that he knew the truth about her and Jamie.

I don’t plan on knitting by the fire while men fight for me. I might be small Lord Glover, and I might be a girl, but I am every bit as much a Northerner as you… And I don’t need your permission to defend the North. - Lyanna Mormont, the little lady of Bear Island reprimanding Lord Glover after he argues against Jon Snow’s plan to train men, women, boys, and girls to fight.

I am a Khaleesi of the Dothraki! I am the wife of the great Khal and I carry his son inside me. The next time you raise a hand to me will be the last time you have hands! - Daenerys to her brother Viserys after he strikes her to the ground and she reciprocates by striking him with a gold belt.

A man with no motive is a man no one suspects. Always keep your foes confused. If they don’t know who you are or what you want, they can’t know what you plan to do next. - Petyr Baelish to Sansa Stark after she questions him about Joffrey’s death.

A girl is Arya Stark of Winterfell and I’m going home. - Arya to Jaqen H’ghar.

No one walks away from me. - Cersei to Jamie when he tells her he is leaving to fight in the North.

A lion doesn’t concern himself with the opinions of the sheep. - Tywin Lannister to Jamie.

Dracarys. - Daenerys to her dragons right before they burn things (or people) down.

My mind is my weapon. My brother has his sword, King Robert has his warhammer, and I have my mind, and a mind needs books like a sword needs a whetstone, if it is to keep its edge. That’s why I read so much Jon Snow. - Tyrion in response to the question “Why do you read so much?”
