Format: .mobi (A copy of this book was provided by the publisher via Edelweiss for the purpose of an honest review. )
Publisher: Avon
Release Date: November 7, 2017

It's Christmastime again in Heartbreaker Bay! When Sean O'Riley shows up at the Hartford Bed & Breakfast for his older brother's bachelor weekend, he's planning to get through this weekend as well as he can and fulfill his duties as best man. What he's not expecting is to come face to face with the woman he lost his virginity to a decade ago - a woman he's never really forgotten.

The last time Lotti Hartford saw Sean, she told him she loved him while he said nothing. Now, ten years later, she's just looking for a good time. For once, she wants to be wild and free, and when she sees how good Sean grew up, she thinks he might actually be the perfect candidate.

As the weekend continues, Sean realizes that after a lifetime of being the hook-up king, he's ready to find happily-ever-after with Lotti. But is she ready to open her heart once again? As Christmas sweeps through the little B&B, love and magic are in the air.

What’s it About? As his brother’s best man, it’s Sean O’Riley’s job to make sure the weekend getaway/bachelor party goes off without a hitch but then he comes face to face with his high school love Charlotte “Lottie” Hartford, the one who got away. Lottie isn’t looking for anything but fun this time around though and since Sean is the casual king she decides he’s perfect for a fling. Sean however, is tired of his love ‘em and leave ‘em style and wants more with Lottie. He just has to convince her to trust him again.

Overall reaction to the story? Jill Shalvis brings the warmth, love, and friendship to a little bed and breakfast and the result is another winner in the form of Holiday Wishes! I can’t get enough of this group of rowdy, loving, friends and I devoured this novella like tasty hor d’oeuvres. Sean’s been such a playboy over the course of the series that I wondered if he’d ever get his chance at a real relationship. Who knew that Sean had had serious feelings for someone in his past though! I like Sean though, I have since his first scene in Sweet Little Lies, even though he was a tad irresponsible and gave Finn trouble. Now Sean’s more mature and trying to make up for being a pain in the butt brother, it was so sweet to see him trying so hard to make things perfect for Finn and Pru.

Lottie was totally new to the series, but I loved her. Sean broke her heart as a teenager but she was still a professional when it came to interacting with him about the bachelor party. In private though she brought the laughs even as she was trying to tell Sean off. She was endearing and sweet in a slightly paranoid way. I loved her devotion to running the family business as best as she could and the way she loved her family was a winning point for me.

As a novella, Holiday Wishes works well, the pace is brisk and the plot is believable. If you’re impatient for the next full length Heartbreaker Bay book then this novella will make the wait easier. If you’re new to Jill Shalvis, then sit back and enjoy the magic that is this series.
