Top Ten Tuesday: Happy Halloween

Hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, Top Ten Tuesday is a celebration of lists! Each week a theme will be posted and bloggers will post their lists on their respective blogs. Some themes are pretty straightforward and others are open for interpretation.

This week’s Topic: Halloween Freebie!
I’m sharing the five things I have to do when it’s Halloween PLUS all four of Virtual Me’s costumes!

Hmm, so I mentioned that I’m not a horror person. I do NOT like to watch movies about murderous clowns, dolls, deformed people, or anything like that. But I do have a Halloween routine, it’s a list of things I HAVE to watch/do in order for it to truly be Halloween. It’s silly but since I don’t get to dress up I like to make my day feel as “Halloweenish” as possible.

So here’s what I do:

1. Wear all black.
I love wearing black and I have a few articles of clothing that look a bit like something Morticia would wear. Plus, I have black, straight hair. If I have to run errands I dress in all black, put on some smokey eyeliner, and straighten my hair. This year I have black leggings and black butt kicker boots to complete the look.

2.  Watch Michael Jackson’s Thriller music video.
This is a MUST. It’s not Halloween unless I’ve watched this and danced it. Yup, I dance it. I can’t help it. I can also recite Vincent Price’s dialogue word for word. I’m a dork and I don’t care. Halloween is my favorite holiday.

3.  Tune in to the haunted marathon.
I don’t like Ghost Hunters or anything like that, those shows just feel hokey/fake to me. I like to watch the documentaries on the most haunted places in the world. London, Scotland, New Orleans, all of them have some really creepy, haunted areas with their own stories and folklore and I love to watch that. Also, anything on the Winchester Mystery Mansion is golden too because I’m fascinated with that house. This one drives my mom nuts because she doesn’t like to watch these and there’s only one tv.

4.  Watch the Buffy the Vampire Episode episode, Hush.
This episode has very little dialogue and was nominated for an Emmy back in the day. This is the only episode of the whole show that freaks me out because The Gentlemen are freaking creepy! I mean, come on they steal a whole town’s voices so that their victims can’t scream as they’re having their hearts cut out and through it all those damn demons are smiling and acting like well, gentlemen!

5 Eat Candy Corn.
I know a lot of people don’t like candy corn but I do. It brings back a few fond memories I have as a kid dressing up and giving out candy. I only eat a handful because too much sugar means I’ll be hyper and anxious all night.

There you have it, the five things I MUST do in order to feel like it’s truly Halloween. Kind of lame I know but I make my moments of happiness where I can.

Is there anything you have to do when it’s Halloween? If you’re dressing up this year and are on Instagram, TAG ME so I can see your awesome costumes. I’m going to live vicariously through you all. You can tag me at: adrias.musings.reviews !

As a bonus, I’m going to show you all of V.M’s costumes this year. If you haven’t heard, I had her dress up as four different things this year as part of the $10 gift card giveaway. Since today is the last day of October, here’s what Virtual Me dressed as:

From Left to Right: Peggy Carter, Faith LeHane, Liz Parker, and Diana of Themiscyra
