Reading Challenges Check In

I’m a little late with this but I decided to do my check-in for my reading challenges. All I have to say is that if I knew then what I know now I would have chosen Historical Romance for the Pick Your Genre Challenge because I can’t seem to read much else!! Sheesh!

Goal Set in January: 45
Actual Books Read: 23
I’m not doing so bad with this one, there have been a lot of new-to-me authors and books that I’ve had the chance to try and quite a few more on my list. Most were hits, a few were misses but overall, this one has been the most fun.

All I can say is that I’m glad I didn’t pick paranormal. I LOVE romantic suspense so I thought this would be easy but with my all time favorite rom suspense author done with her best series ever (Elle Kennedy I’m looking at you!), I’m a wee bit lost here. I’m heavily dependent on Katie Reus but… I’ve read all her rom suspense books already *cries*

I’ve kind of let this one fall by the wayside but I did start off pretty good.

Katie Reus. I haven’t made much progress here because my library doesn’t have these books available.

Jill Shalvis. I started off like a racehorse with these but that’s because the prices were reduced, now they’re not and well I’ve got a budget. And there are A LOT of delicious books in this author’s backlist I want to get to soon.

Julie James. I made some good progress here, I need like two more books to catch up and I’m hoping for some kind of sale.

Lisa Kleypas. I totally won on this one. There were only two books I missed from The Ravenels series and I was lucky enough to get them when they were at a lower price. Yay me!

Cara Connelly. The Save the Date series has been on my kindle for a while. I read two books for separate blog tours and I really wanted to read more. I have three of the books unread and I need to get the first book so I can start. So it’s a matter of making time.

Tessa Dare. I hate to say this but this is not her best series. I have all three books in the series on my kindle and I’ve tried three times over the summer to read Romancing the Duke and for some reason it’s just not sticking the way her Spindle Cove series did. Even The Stud Club series was better. So this series is going onto the “Incomplete” list for another time.

So that’s my late as heck check in on my reading challenges.
