TGIF: Ta Ta for Now!

So another week has come and gone... Is it winter yet? I'm going to tell you something funny.

With this heat and how hot I get, I swear I sometimes smell like barbecued pork chops, or like we say in Spanish: Carnitas.

My mom always laughs and tells me I don't smell like carnitas in the summer but I swear to you I can smell myself cooking in this heat! Even after I shower (In cold water thank you), I start to smell that crispy meat smell and it takes me a few seconds to realize it's ME! Lol. Okay that's it for the random yet weird thought for the month.

Actually this is the last post on the blog until August because it's....

Yes, it’s that time of the year where I take the summer off because:

  1. It’s freaking HOT where I live, we have a shitty air conditioning system, and the laptop I use needs a rest. It gets overheated easily and I need it to keep working until I can get a new one. IF I can get a new one.
  2. I get overheated. I have a heart condition. Five steps for you feels like twenty to me. The heat does not help so I spend a lot of time not moving very much and with ice packs around me.
  3. My mom works with the schools so she’s off for the summer and I haven’t spent time with her. Yes, I’m 32 years old and love spending time with my momma. As I’ve gotten older I’ve seen many of my friends lose their parents and it has made me hyper aware that I will one day go through the same thing. I only have the one parent and she’s been pretty awesome to me. Plus she gets my sarcastic humor and I don’t have to get out of my pajamas to hang out with her. She’s used to me going to the stores with her in my pjs.
  4. I need to catch up on my reading and writing new blog posts without having to worry about posting the next day. I’m really bad at blogging ahead so it’s fly by the seat of my pants most of the time.
  5. Hayley. I just want to spend time with my goofy ass dog. So far all I’ve done is take her on her weekly trip to the outdoor mall and cuddle her at night. I want to hang with her during the day too. And it doesn’t count if I’m just in the same room with her while she’s napping on the floor. Also, she has an Instagram account that I as her "staff" have been neglecting.
  6. Handlettering. I haven’t been practicing lately and I’m getting frustrated with that. I just got some new pens and I ordered the Tombow Fude pens. Once those come in I don’t want to have to split my time for awhile. Plus I got some awesome practice sheets for like $3 on Etsy, and a bunch of YouTube tutorials for free.

While I won’t be posting on the blog, I will still be on social media and visiting blogs. I want to thank Anna over at Herding Cats and Burning Soup (Gosh I thank her a lot, she’s always super helpful with the TBR mountain, as in she helps me add to it) for the recent Get Social event she hosted. I’ve found a bunch of new blogs to visit and have had a lot of different people stop by here, which has motivated me to find new stuff to talk about and possibly adjust the blog name a bit come fall.

Oh, and I’m working on some new graphics. I’m hoping to get the Halloween ones done soon.

In the meantime, come chat with me on Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter. Come August I have some neat books to give away too! So have a great summer guys and look me up on social media!

All summer release books that I have on my review queue will have their reviews posted on Amazon and Goodreads first and then on the blog starting in August.
