Review: It's Me Again Baby by Katie Reus

I've really fallen hard for the O'Connor family, they're really the ideal type of family and Maquire is no exception. He and Sam were such a great couple and they definitely brought a song to mind with their romance.

She lost him once…
Years ago Samantha made a mistake and lost a chance at something real with Maguire O’Connor. Now that she’s living in Holly again, she knows seeing him is inevitable. But the last thing she ever expected was to take him on as a client.

Now they have a second chance…
Maguire never got over Sam. Thanks to a meddling family member, he mistakenly hires Sam as his real estate agent. With her in his sights again, he’s not letting her go. But someone from her past followed her back to Holly with a sinister intent. Now Maguire will do whatever it takes to protect the woman he intends to claim as his forever.

What’s it About? Maguire O’Connor and Samantha Murphy had a brief hot and heavy fling that might have turned into something more had a misunderstanding and insecurities not played a part in separating them. Now Sam is back in Holly to be closer to her family, but when the meddling O’Connor matriarch shamelessly puts Sam in Maguire’s path, things start to heat up quickly even as someone from Sam’s past is stalking her.

Overall reaction to the story? Katie Reus’ talent for writing fulfilling novellas continues in It’s Me Again Baby, the latest installment of the O’Connor Family series. Maguire and Sam might be my favorite couple in the series, they had such an electric connection that was believable and intense but also sweet and funny. The light suspense only added to my enjoyment of this second chance romance and gave a pretty solid reason for Maguire and Sam to spend a lot of time together aside from their obvious attraction. One thing that really stood out to me is that while Maguire was the big tough guy, it was Sam who did most of the seducing this time around. Maguire didn't put up a fight but still, it was nice to see the woman step up and go for what she wanted.

There was a feeling of warmth, love, and family throughout the story with Maguire’s brothers and sister popping up to lend a hand, some friendly advice, or some comedic relief. I loved seeing the O’Connor family together, it was clear that they were super close and that they loved each other even as they teased one another mercilessly sometimes. That's the biggest appeal to me, the good solid family ties these characters have. They're bonded through love and not obligation.
