Blog Tour: Lethal Lies by Rebecca Zanetti

I know what you're thinking, A SUNDAY POST? WTF? In my defense, I was so excited about being able to review this book that I didn't pay close enough attention to the tour dates being offered. But you know what? I don't care because I got to read Heath's book and it was worth it! *cackles maniacally* Oh and there's a playlist for the book which I think more authors should do or share cause I love to hear what they feel is the "soundtrack" to the story. There's also a pretty awesome giveaway too!

About Rebecca:

Rebecca Zanetti is the author of over twenty-five romantic suspense, dark paranormal, and contemporary romances, and her books have appeared multiple times on the New York Times, USA Today, and Amazon bestseller lists. She has received a Publisher's Weekly Starred Review for Wicked Edge, Romantic Times Reviewer Choice Nominations for Forgotten Sins and Sweet Revenge, and RT Top Picks for several of her novels.

She lives in the wilds of the Pacific Northwest with her own alpha hero, two kids, a couple of dogs, a crazy cat...and a huge extended family. She believes strongly in luck, karma, and working her butt off...and she thinks one of the best things about being an author, unlike the lawyer she used to be, is that she can let the crazy out.

Revenge. It's the only thing that will help Anya Best sleep at night. The serial killer who murdered her sister is on the loose, and Anya will stop at nothing to put him behind bars-even use herself as bait to lure him out of hiding. But she can't do this alone.

Private investigator Heath Jones's job is to bring bastards to justice. This time it's personal. He knew the Copper Killer's latest victim so when her sister asks for his help, he's all in. But when Anya uses the media to taunt the killer, she exposes Heath's identity, putting them both in jeopardy. Now, secrets buried long ago are coming to light and the forces determined to destroy him are watching Heath's every move, waiting to exact their own revenge. And they'll use anything and anyone to get to Heath.

What’s it About? The Jones brothers are still on the search for a serial killer but after a woman Heath Jones knew becomes the killer's latest victim, it turns personal for him. Especially when Anya Best, the victim's sister comes to him for help. Anya is determined to avenge her sister's murder so she uses the media to taunt the killer into coming after her. Making things even more complicated, Anya unknowingly exposes Heath and his brothers to an old enemy that has spent years looking for them. Now Heath has to protect Anya from not one threat but two all while battling a fierce mutual attraction.

Overall reaction to the story? Don't expect to get anything done once you start reading Lethal Lies because Rebecca Zanetti really takes things to the next level with this one! The action is top notch, the romance is off the charts, and the suspense all but stopped my heart just like a good book should! From beginning to end, I was kept on the edge of my seat and I didn't give a damn about silly things like housework, eating, or even sleeping for that matter. Lethal Lies is a strongly crafted story that will delight, shock, and please fans of romantic suspense.

Describe the hero in five words: Deadly. Kind. Smart. Tortured. Loyal.
Did you like him? Yes.
Why? Heath just might be my favorite of the three Jones brothers for one simple reason: He rescues animals. There is something so drop dead sexy about a man like Heath. He's a genetically enhanced human who can kill a person with a single blow yet he has a soft spot for wounded animals, he can't turn away from an animal in pain. He totally melted my heart with that aspect of his character. Seriously, he needs a puppy. There needs to be a thing on Twitter or Facebook, like #APuppyforHeath . I'd support that. Of course, he shouldn't get a puppy until he and his brothers are out of danger but after that? A puppy needs to happen. Heath is too much of a nurturer and protector to not have a puppy.

I got off track a bit there didn't I? Anywho, Heath is dedicated to his brothers and of the three of them feels things more deeply than they do which made him the most likely to hold onto his personal failings and shortcomings and made him seem more vulnerable to me. It didn't take away from his mad skills though, it just made him a more balanced character instead of a machine.

Describe the heroine in five words: Stubborn. Brave. Intelligent. Kind. Dedicated.
Did you like her? Yes.
Why? Anya may not physically be as capable as Heath of fighting off a dangerous killer but she's so dang smart that she becomes crucial to finding said killer. She does NOT let herself be placed on the sidelines while the big, tough men do all the "heavy lifting" and that was my favorite thing about her. Heath may have felt like finding the killer was personal but it was Anya's sister that was murdered and she was so not going to have anyone else do the work that she was capable of doing. And aside from basically painting a target on her forehead using the media, Anya made sure she was an asset in the case rather than a burden. She didn't pull stupid stunts thinking she could handle things on her own and when things got tough she didn't fall apart, she got smarter and tougher. I love a heroine who can be what she needs to be in order to survive even if she's wetting her pants on the inside. Anya will be a tough heroine to beat.

Let’s talk about the romance: Heath and Anya have an almost instant attraction but while it's there the main focus is finding the serial killer who murdered Anya's sister and that allowed the attraction to simmer and then boil over into some pretty hot scenes. But while there was a lot of physical chemistry, there was also an emotional connection that built between them even with all that was going on. I loved that Zanetti didn't build Heath and Anya's romance around sex but rather their emotions and desire to make sure no one else had to suffer the loss of a loved one to the serial killer. I just loved these two, Heath because he was a natural protector and Anya because she challenged Heath to be more than who he was when they first met.

How about that supporting cast? Since Heath is super close to his brothers and they're all on the run from the same people, Ryker and Denver had a lot of scenes in the book and I love the dynamic between these three. They're so different yet at the same time they have a lot in common. Their lives are so dangerous and intense that I really relished the rare moments they let their guards down and acted like normal guys who happened to be brothers. It was nice to see Zara too, her presence helped balance out an otherwise testosterone filled cast.

Click It or Skip It? Click It. Lethal Lies brings the action, the romance, and a three brothers that readers can't help but want to see get a happy ending. Plus, Heath needs a puppy. #APuppyforHeath
