Review: A Bad Boy for Christmas by Jessica Lemmon

Tis the season for… Christmas romances! I know my Christmas romance season got off to a positive start with this one by Jessica Lemmon.

Format: .mobi (A copy of this book was provided by the publisher via NetGalley for the purpose of an honest review. )
Publisher: Forever
Release Date: September 29, 2015

Connor McClain knows what he wants. And after four harrowing years in Afghanistan, that's a quiet life in the lakeside town of Evergreen Cove. But coming home has land mines of its own-the most dangerous of them being long-legged bombshell Faith Garrett. Now getting her into his arms this holiday is going to require more than mistletoe . . .

With a cheating ex behind her, all Faith wants is a relaxing holiday free from man drama. And even though every moment with gorgeous Connor is a sweet temptation, Faith is determined not to give in. But Jack Frost has other plans, and soon Faith and Connor are snowbound in a winter wonderland with only the sparks flying between them to keep them warm. As one hot kiss leads to another, they'll have to decide if they're ready to give each other the best gift of all-love.

Conner McClain’s quiet life in his hometown of Evergreen Cove gets turned upside down when he crosses the line between flirting and passionate kisses with Faith Garrett. Connor is sure he wants to be more than just a fling to Faith but she’s going to need some convincing.

Still recovering from a cheating ex, Faith was hoping to stay away from the complications men bring but Conner is too much to resist. His combination of killer looks and good guy attitude have her giving in to him every time.

A Bad Boy for Christmas felt like a big cup of hot chocolate with extra marshmallows on a cold winter day. Without the calories of course!

Who would have thought being a professional landscaper could sound so sexy? Connor was obviously the patient, nurturing kind of man which was at odds with his former life as a soldier. I spent about 90% of A Bad Boy for Christmas wondering what was wrong with Faith that she couldn’t see what a catch Connor was. A man who could protect and defend yet who could turn around and be so gentle and caring of the plants he grew? Can you imagine if all landscapers were like Connor? There’d be lines for miles at every landscaping business in the world.

But I can’t be too hard on Faith, her childhood and recent experience with her fiance didn’t exactly inspire confidence in men or love. And can I get a cheer for another tall heroine? As someone who is considered tall where she lives, it’s not easy meeting men who are taller. Faith’s honest to goodness obsession with sweets was a check mark in the “Like” column too. Who wants a heroine who is always eating leaves or pushes food around on her plate every time she’s nervous? I will say that my craving for donuts, cupcakes and the like went up with this book. So my advice is to have some sweets handy when reading A Bad Boy for Christmas.

And who says a Christmas centered story has to be a sugary sweet, so-cute-it’s-disgusting type romance? Jessica Lemmon brings the hot and heavy with plenty of heated glances, touches and explosive kisses… To start with. Having only read one other story by Lemmon, I’m still a relative newbie to her characters but A Bad Boy for Christmas was enough of a sample to have me wanting to read everything else she’s written.

Final Verdict: Settle in with your favorite sweet snack because this is one book you won’t be able to put down.
