Favorite Character Friday: That Rascal

Favorite Character Friday is a weekly meme hosted by Adria's Romance Reviews that gives readers a chance to celebrate their favorite characters!

Why a weekly meme? Because really, with millions of books out there and more coming out every week, characters are like potato chips, you can't have just one.

How it works: Every week you pick one of your favorite characters and tell every one who it is, what book they're from and WHY they're one of your favorite characters. Be sure to include the blurb and book cover as well! Share the love and maybe someone will read that same book and see why that character is one of your favorites! Unlike the Book Boyfriend meme (which was a great meme), your Favorite Character Fridays choice can be male or female!

Favorite Character: Colin Sandhurst, Lord Payne

Book Title & Author: A Week to Be Wicked by Tessa Dare

Why is this character your favorite (Feel free to include a favorite quote or scene)? Who doesn’t love a charming, irresponsible but witty rake? That’s exactly what Colin is! He chases women yet there isn’t a cruel bone in his body. He may unintentionally hurt people with some of his reckless ways but he always tries his best not to. Even his antagonistic relationship with Minerva was never mean. He was like a little boy with a crush on a girl, he liked to figuratively speaking, pull on her pig tails and tease her to get a reaction out of her. He likes fun and adventures so the entire trip with Minerva is filled with him enjoying himself even when things go sideways.

Colin is one of my favorites because out of all the men in Minerva’s life, he is the only one who didn’t scoff at her bluestocking ways. He appreciated her mind even if he didn’t understand what she was talking about most of the time. He felt intimidated by her but that didn’t lessen his attraction to her either. That told me that he wasn’t afraid of her intelligence and let’s face it, it takes a strong man to love and stand next to a smart/strong woman.

He had a quick sense of humor and a sensitive heart. He was always trying to play the hero but whenever it didn’t work out, Colin felt the failure deeply. He broke my heart with how much he wanted and needed to be a hero in Minerva’s eyes. As unlikely a pair as he made with a bluestocking, they totally worked.

Book Cover/Blurb:
When a devilish lord and a bluestocking set off on the road to ruin . . . time is not on their side.

Minerva Highwood, one of Spindle Cove's confirmed spinsters, needs to be in Scotland.

Colin Sandhurst, Lord Payne, a rake of the first order, needs to be . . . anywhere but Spindle Cove.
These unlikely partners have one week:
to fake an elopement
to convince family and friends they're "in love"
to outrun armed robbers
to survive their worst nightmares
to travel four hundred miles without killing each other
All while sharing a very small carriage by day and an even smaller bed by night.

What they don't have time for is their growing attraction. Much less wild passion. And heaven forbid they spend precious hours baring their hearts and souls.

Suddenly one week seems like exactly enough time to find a world of trouble. And maybe . . . just maybe . . . everlasting love.

To make things simpler, I'm taking a page from Brazen Babe's blog who took a page from Talk Supe's blog and asking that when you link up, link up with your tag link. For example, I always tag this meme as "favorite character friday" and so my tag link looks like this:

That way, you can just leave a comment every week and others can just click on your link to see your latest FCF! Easy right?
