My Favorite Author: Laura Wright + Giveaway

In case you're new, this is a new, monthly feature here on the blog. Every month I talk about one of the authors on my list of "Favorites." I'll tell you why they're one of my favorites and in some cases, how I discovered them. Then, as my gift to you, I will give you a chance to win your choice of e-book by that month's author. At the end of the month I will chose one person and they will get to pick what book they'd like. So read on and don't forget to fill out the rafflecopter form at the end!

I'm a relatively new fan of Laura Wright's. I first noticed her books last year when I was perusing my local Barnes & Noble bookstore. I was in between paranormal romances (basically I just finished a great read and was waiting for the next release by another author) and a hot guy on a cover is just begging to be looked at. The book was Eternal Captive. The summary had me racing to the nearest register when I realized it was the third book in a series.

I rationalized that if I didn't get the previous books in the Mark of the Vampire series, then Eternal Captive would just sit on my shelf, unread and eventually forgotten. Thus my purchase of three new, hunky vampire heroes. Then I saw that the next book in the series (Eternal Beast) was due to be released in a few days and that Laura would be having a Twitter party to celebrate. Well I did NOT want to miss that so I dedicated the next few days to reading the whole series so that I wouldn't be left out of the conversations.

Let me just say that I went through a lot of ice and my fan almost burned out because Laura Wright has some of the most erotic, bone melting scenes I have ever read! I mean, WOW! I read all three books in about a week. I may have bitten one or two people who tried to interrupt me during that time period but I can't remember.

Do I have a favorite? Yes. It's Lucian. That gorgeous, damaged, sexy vampire. RAWR.

Anyway, I also found out that Laura was having a virtual signing for Eternal Beast, book 4 in the series. Guess who got a personalized, signed copy of Eternal Beast? I'm one lucky vampire girl. Can I say that Eternal Beast turned me into a puddle of hormones? Yes? Okay, well that's what it did. *fans self*

Fast forward to a month ago. I was lucky enough to read and review book 5 in the Mark of the Vampire series, Eternal Demon (out on May 7, 2013) for I Smell Sheep (where I'm a guest reviewer). That review has already been posted.

However, the icing and cherry on this particular cake is that I Smell Sheep will be interviewing Laura Wright and Sharon kindly gave me a chance to ask 4 questions! Yes my dears, I can now put a double check mark next to Laura's name under "Get a personalized/signed book from author" and "Interview this Author." Yes, to me, romance novelists are rock stars, just way more accessible to the average person.

Yep. Blogging can be very rewarding.

  1. Adriana I have her books on my bookshelf and they've been sitting there for ages! I can't believe I haven't read her yet. Bone melting sexy scenes? Um. Yes. Please!! I love a "damaged" vamp too. Very exciting on getting to interview her!! That's awesome. And now I'm off to see if I can in anyway juggle books to fit one in soon. lol

  2. You have better restraint than I do! Ugh, her books just get sexier and sexier. I'm a big fan of "dirty talk" and man these vamps are super good at it. *fans self*

I hope you get the chance to read Laura's books soon, you have quite a bit of catching up to do ;)

  3. I have never heard of this author....I am so putting her books on my wishlist...they sound great! :) Hope you are having a great week.

  4. Argg!! I can't believe I have so many review books this month. Dirty talkers? Gah. Favorites! You're killing me Adria! lol Yep I'll dig them out so they're on hand next time I'm free reading.

  5. I've never read this author before. Her books sound really good. Thanks for the giveaway.

  6. I love everything in Paranormal Romance, I'm a huge, big, freak fan of PNR! And you can always count on me with vampires, sexy alpha male, all the way, yes they are my weakness! Thaks for this giveaway, first time on your blog BTW and it's great!

  7. I'm killing you? Girl you went and talked about a new to me author on FB (Erin McCarthy) and now I'm trying to shuffle my reading schedule and checking my book budget!!! Lol.

  8. Hi there I'm glad you stopped by to chat! What are your favorite PNR authors? I love Lydia Dare, Lara Adrian, Sherrilyn Kenyon, Larissa Ione and of course Laura Wright.

  9. I'm sort of a new fan myself. She has some of the sexiest PNR books I've read. Good luck!

  10. She's having a Twitter party next week for her new release. You can still pre-order the upcoming book and it will be signed by her AND the cover model.

  11. ::snort:: I torture myself with blogs daily with all the authors I want to try out.

We're having our big annual library book sale next week (it's huge- last year they sold over 100,000 books in like 5 days). I'll keep an eye out for her series and grab them for ya. Last year I got 2 boxes for 10 bucks...127 books in them. It's like the best place ever. That's where I got most of her series actually. lol

  12. You have annual library book sales?! I don't think we have them here and if we do the they're on the opposite side of the city. Literally when I read 127 books for 10 bucks my eyes glazed over. My friend describes it as "The same look a chocolate addict gets when they see the last piece of chocolate within reach."

  13. It's absolutely glorious. They shut down the state fair grounds for it and have this HUGE warehouse like room set up absolute covered in books. They do it once a year and it's really something to see. I'll have to take a pic of the building this year.

Not sure if the link will work but this was my haul last year. Some library books but also a bunch that people just donated for the event. They raised something like 300,000 from it I want to say.

  14. Wow, that's a gorgeous pile of books. I may have drooled a little. Lol.

  15. I look for strong alpha males in my PNR's

I love hearing from you and will always try to get back to each and every one of you as soon as I can. If you have a blog, leave a link so I can stop by and say "Hello!"
