Cat Thursday: Those Silly Cats

Welcome to the weekly meme hosted by The True Book Addict that celebrates the wonders and sometime hilarity of cats!

It's been a while since I've done one of these but I do have a bunch saved on my phone Lol.

The true difference between dogs and cats. Lol. Actually my three cats are pretty well behaved and trained. They know where they CAN go in the house and where they can't. If they try to push the boundaries I just have to say "No, go over there!" And they do! Especially my white cat Orion.

Spencer is the one most likely to push it if there's food involved, which is why he's on a diet now. Little Porker. As for Amelia, she's so sweet that she really doesn't get into trouble unless a feather boa is involved.

Now my aunt's cat Sinatra is a different story. She definitely has "My Cat From Hell" moments. She LIVES to push her luck with the boundaries, not just with me, but with everyone she meets. So yeah, the above cat is most like her.

Waiting on Wednesday: Bliss!

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

This week's pre-publication "can't-wait-to-read" selection is: Wedded Bliss by Celeste Bradley

I’ve already read this one and I LOVED it so I can’t wait for everyone else to be able to buy it next week! In my opinion it’s the best one in the series!

Top Ten Tuesday: Book Turn-Offs!

Hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, Top Ten Tuesday is a celebration of lists! Each week a theme will be posted and bloggers will post their lists on their respective blogs. Some themes are pretty straightforward and others are open for interpretation.

This week’s Topic: Top Ten Things That Will Make Me Instantly NOT Want To Read A Book
Oh man I could rant about this topic until the cows come home but I don’t have 10 things that are a total turn off, only 5 that are absolute NOs.

Tuesday Jams: Baby

Brazen Babe Reviews have this awesome meme called Tuesday Jams where you share a song that you currently love and can't get out of your head (Or in my case, off "repeat" on my iPod). Everyone's welcome to join in, the more the merrier! Be sure to leave your link on their blog post so that others can stop by and see your selection!

So, the one other thing I love just as much as reading? Listening to music! Though the majority of my music is modern country or movie scores, I do listen to a little bit of everything and am always on the look out for more music to add to my collection (You should see my iTunes library, it's HUGE). That's why Tuesday Jams has just become one of my new favorite memes!

Can't get out of my head song(s) this week are: Baby, Baby, Baby by TLC
I loved TLC back in the day and this weekend they played three of their songs in a row on the radio and I remembered how much I loved these ladies and how I cried when Left Eye, who was my favorite, passed away.

A Brief Hiatus

 Happy Monday all!

I’m actually taking this week off from blogging. I normally don’t do this but between the increase in my responsibilities, lack of sleep, health problems, and stress I feel like I really need this week to catch my breath.

I will be back next week though and the blog won’t be totally quiet, I have all the week’s memes set up so there will be something each day, just not a review or anything like that.

Quote-Tastic: Archer and Elle!

Hosted by Herding Cats and Burning Soup, Quote-tastic is a weekly Monday meme that gives readers a chance to share their favorite book quotes. So settle back, share your favorite quotes and help me add to my TBR mountain, er, have fun?

This week's quotes: Come from one of my favorite reads this year, Accidentally On Purpose by Jill Shalvis. This first one is when Elle is demanding an answer to a question and Archer takes her away from their group of friends in order to get more privacy.

Favorite Character Friday: A new character!

Favorite Character Friday is a weekly meme hosted by Adria's Romance Reviews that gives readers a chance to celebrate their favorite characters, because with millions of books out there and more coming out every week, characters are like potato chips, you can't have just one.

How it works: Every week you pick one of your favorite characters and tell everyone WHY they're one of your favorite characters. Be sure to include the blurb and book cover as well! Share the love and maybe someone will read that same book and see why that character is one of your favorites! Unlike the Book Boyfriend meme (which was a great meme), your Favorite Character Fridays choice can be male or female!

Be sure to link back to Adria's Romance Reviews and share the link via the linky widget below.

FBI agents Jessica Harlow and John Shepherd have a past. The former lawyer and cocky Army Ranger clashed during their training at Quantico and gladly went their separate ways after graduating from the Academy. Six years later, the last thing either of them expects is to be assigned to work as partners in a high-profile undercover sting.

For both of them, being paired with an old rival couldn’t come at a worse time. Recently divorced from a Hollywood producer and looking for a fresh start, Jessica is eager to prove herself at her new field office. And John is just one case away from his dream assignment to the FBI’s elite Hostage Rescue Team. In order to nail a corrupt Florida politician, they’ll have to find a way to work together—a task that becomes even trickier when they’re forced to hole up at a romantic beachfront resort as part of the investigation. Suddenly, the heat behind their nonstop sparring threatens to make the job a lot more complicated...

Quote-Tastic: Tempt Me At Twilight by Lisa Kleypas

Hosted by Herding Cats and Burning Soup, Quote-tastic is a weekly Monday meme that gives readers a chance to share their favorite book quotes. So settle back, share your favorite quotes and help me add to my TBR mountain, er, have fun?

This week's quote: Is from Tempt Me At Twilight by Lisa Kleypas. Each book in the series is a standalone, complete story but combined they also give the reader a front seat view of the Hathaway family’s unique dynamic and deep loyalty to one another. There are so many moments between the characters throughout the series that it was hard to pick one for this week. Since I’m currently re-reading the third book I thought I’d pick two quotes from this one. The first one takes place after Poppy’s recent marriage. Something happens between her and her husband, hotel magnate Harry Rutledge that sends Poppy running to her brother Leo. What ensues is pure Leo.

She's no Sleeping Beauty. And he's definitely no prince . . .

My personal one, the one for the blog, and one for Hayley. So there may be some that you haven’t seen if you aren’t following all three.

Review: A Study in Scoundrels by Christy Carlyle

Excuse me while I execute a happy dance at having enjoyed a new-to-me author!

Format: .mobi (A copy of this book was provided by the publisher via Edelweiss for the purpose of an honest review. )
Publisher: Avon Impulse
Release Date: April 11, 2017

Sophia Ruthven is the epitome of proper behavior. On paper at least, as long as that paper isn’t from one of the lady detective stories she secretly pens. She certainly isn’t interested in associating with the dashing Jasper Grey, the wayward heir to the Earl of Stanhope, and one of the stage’s leading men. But when she learns Grey’s younger sister Liddy has gone missing, she can’t deny her desire to solve the mystery…or her attraction to the incorrigible scoundrel.

Responsibility isn’t something Grey is very familiar with. On the boards and in the bedroom, he lives exactly how he wants to, shunning all the trappings of respectability and society. Grey knows he should avoid the bewitching Sophia, but he’s never been able to say no to what he wants. And having Sophia in his arms and his bed is quickly becoming the thing he wants the most.

As Sophia and Grey’s search for Liddy continues across the English countryside, can this scoundrel convince a proper lady that he’s actually perfect for her or will their adventure leave them both heartbroken?

I have a special edition of Throwback Thursday Reviews this week because my sister is chiming in on this one! I recently introduced her to Lisa Kleypas and she’s fallen in love big time!
