The Backlist Reader Challenge 2017

http://bookwyrmshoard.com/the-backlist-reader-challenge/

Got a Goodreads “to-read” list a mile long?

Have you been reading so many new books that you don’t have time to get to the older titles on your want-to-read list? That’s what happened to me, so I came up with The Backlist Reader Challenge.

The Backlist Reader Challenge (#BacklistReader) is a year-long challenge for all those older books that have been piling up on your TBR pile and list — not just the ones you own, but the ones you’ve been wanting to read for a while now.

#BacklistReader on social media!

If you're interested, you can sign up here!

Okay so I actually had a similar post planned for January 1 but I saw this challenge and thought maybe signing up for a challenge might motivate me more. So here it is, some of the books that I hope to read in 2017! You can see I've been able to read some and I've reviewed the ones I've read.

Review: Lady Claire is All That by Maya Rodale

Not a bad way to pass the time. There were a few head scratching moments for me but I loved the humor and heart in this story.

Format: .mobi (A copy of this book was provided by the publisher via Edelweiss for the purpose of an honest review. )
Publisher: Avon
Release Date: December 27, 2016

In the third installment of Maya Rodale’s captivating, witty series, a marquess finds his fair lady—but must figure out how to keep her.

HER BRAINS…

Claire Cavendish is in search of a duke, but not for the usual reasons. The man she seeks is a mathematician; the man she unwittingly finds is Lord Fox: dynamic, athletic, and as bored by the equations Claire adores as she is by the social whirl upon which he thrives. As attractive as Fox is, he’s of no use to Claire . . . or is he?

PLUS HIS BRAWN . . .

Fox’s male pride has been bruised ever since his fiancée jilted him. One way to recover: win a bet that he can transform Lady Claire, Society’s roughest diamond, into its most prized jewel. But Claire has other ideas—shockingly steamy ones . . .

EQUALS A STUDY IN SEDUCTION . . .

By Claire’s calculations, Fox is the perfect man to satisfy her sensual curiosity. In Fox’s estimation, Claire is the perfect woman to prove his mastery of the ton. But the one thing neither of them counted on is love . . .

Loosely based off of the 90’s teen movie She’s All That (One of my guilty pleasures), Maya Rodale’s Lady Claire is All That is about a bet made between the brawny Lord Fox and his less than likable friend that Fox can turn the brainy American heiress Lady Claire into the belle of the season. Fox’s arrogance leads him to believe the bet will be easily won, but when he starts spending time with Lady Claire so he can change “transform” her and win the bet, Fox starts finding out that there are more important things in life than popularity and social acceptance.

Dear Santa, I Can Explain...

So tomorrow is Christmas Eve (And my birthday!) and I’ve been thinking that maybe you have the wrong idea about me. I mean, you’ve only seen the pictures of certain “events” but no one has ever asked ME, THE HAYLEY about what really happened. Who does that?

Technically you can’t put me on the Naughty list if you don’t know the truth right? Let me explain:

1. Mom’s Earphones: It was the first time I was left alone in my new surroundings. Okay so mom was in the kitchen with her counselor but still, I didn’t have any company!

Tuesday Jams: Bring on the Sexy.

Brazen Babe Reviews have this awesome meme called Tuesday Jams where you share a song that you currently love and can't get out of your head (Or in my case, off "repeat" on my iPod). Everyone's welcome to join in, the more the merrier! Be sure to leave your link on their blog post so that others can stop by and see your selection!

So, the one other thing I love just as much as reading? Listening to music! Though the majority of my music is modern country or movie scores, I do listen to a little bit of everything and am always on the look out for more music to add to my collection (You should see my iTunes library, it's HUGE). That's why Tuesday Jams has just become one of my new favorite memes!

Can't get out of my head song(s) this week are:I’ll Make Love to You by Boyz II Men.

Arguably one of the best damn groups ever, these guys paved the way for the Backstreet Boys, N’Sync and the like. I fell in absolute LOVE with Boyz II Men’s harmonies, not to mention this freaking sexy as hell song. You can’t not feel the smexy in the lyrics and the vocals.
