Favorite Character Friday: Evie!!!

Favorite Character Friday is a weekly meme hosted by Adria's Romance Reviews that gives readers a chance to celebrate their favorite characters!

Why a weekly meme? Because really, with millions of books out there and more coming out every week, characters are like potato chips, you can't have just one.

How it works: Every week you pick one of your favorite characters and tell every one who it is, what book they're from and WHY they're one of your favorite characters. Be sure to include the blurb and book cover as well! Share the love and maybe someone will read that same book and see why that character is one of your favorites! Unlike the Book Boyfriend meme (which was a great meme), your Favorite Character Fridays choice can be male or female!

Be sure to link back to Adria's Romance Reviews and share the link via the linky widget below.

I ALMOST didn’t make it to post today! I’m catching a cold, my mom’s catching a cold, Hayley destroyed my mom’s knitting needles… Lol, anyway I think we’re good to go until Monday.

Favorite Character: Evangeline Jenner

Book Title & Author: Devil in Winter by Lisa Kleypas

Why is this character your favorite (Feel free to include a favorite quote or scene)?Up until Devil in Winter Evie is just the stuttering, unremarkable supporting character for her Wallflower friends. Or is she? Evie leans more towards intellectual thinking and has the kindest heart of any character I’ve met, but she doesn’t let anyone push her around. It’s all about her quiet but resilient strength. She’d have to be strong in order to approach the most scandalous man in London and all but demand he marry her immediately and then proceed to challenge his authority at every opportunity. I loved Evie’s evolution from a nobody to the woman who tamed the notorious St. Vincent without compromising who she was. She didn’t make St. Vincent fall in love with her by becoming what he wanted, St. Vincent fell in love with her because she was a strong willed, determined, and loving person with the backbone to stand up to him.

Evie clamped her teeth on the sweet, pulpy grape and maneuvered the seeds out with her teeth and tongue. As he watched her mouth working on the fruit, Sebastian’s smile faded slightly, and he leaned back. “At the moment you’re too much of a novice to be worth the bother,” he continued coolly. “Perhaps I’ll seduce you in the future, after some other men have taken the trouble to educate you.”
“I doubt it,” she said sullenly. “I would never be so bourgeois as to sleep with my own husband.”
A catch of laughter escaped him. “My God. You must have been waiting for days to use that one. Congratulations, child. We haven’t yet been married a week, and you’re already learning how to fight.”

Book Cover/Blurb:
Desperate to escape her scheming relatives, Evangeline Jenner has sought the help of the most infamous scoundrel in London.

A marriage of convenience is the only solution.

No one would have ever paired the shy, stammering wallflower with the sinfully handsome viscount. It quickly becomes clear, however, that Evie is a woman of hidden strength—and Sebastian desires her more than any woman he's ever known.

Determined to win her husband's elusive heart, Evie dares to strike a bargain with the devil: If Sebastian can stay celibate for three months, she will allow him into her bed.
When Evie is threatened by a vengeful enemy from the past, Sebastian vows to do whatever it takes to protect his wife . . . even at the expense of his own life.
Together they will defy their perilous fate, for the sake of all-consuming love.
