Favorite Character Friday: The last of 2015!

Favorite Character Friday is a weekly meme hosted by Adria's Romance Reviews that gives readers a chance to celebrate their favorite characters!

Why a weekly meme? Because really, with millions of books out there and more coming out every week, characters are like potato chips, you can't have just one.

How it works: Every week you pick one of your favorite characters and tell every one who it is, what book they're from and WHY they're one of your favorite characters. Be sure to include the blurb and book cover as well! Share the love and maybe someone will read that same book and see why that character is one of your favorites! Unlike the Book Boyfriend meme (which was a great meme), your Favorite Character Fridays choice can be male or female!

Favorite Character: Sir Richard Harmsworth

Book Title & Author: A Rake’s Midnight Kiss by Anna Campbell

Why is this character your favorite (Feel free to include a favorite quote or scene)? He’s witty, charming, amiable, and has a gaudy sense of fashion but that’s not what makes Richard such a great character. As cheesy as it sounds it’s his heart that makes him one of my favorites. He’s such a vulnerable man and he hides his sensitive nature behind a mask of indifference and charm. His status as a bastard albeit a well liked bastard haunted him and in some ways shaped him into the man he was but it didn’t take away his true personality. I loved Richard’s humor because it wasn’t mean spirited or bitter, just funny and slightly sarcastic. I do love me some sarcastic humor.

Richard for all his flaws couldn’t seem to help having a bit of a white knight complex, especially when it came to Genevieve and he has a loyalty that is unshakable.

Book Cover/Blurb:

IT TAKES A LADY
Brilliant scholar Genevieve Barrett's secret identity as the author of her father's articles is her greatest deception-until her father's handsome new student arrives on their doorstep. Genevieve recognizes him as the masked intruder who earlier tried to steal a priceless gem from their home. Keeping the seductive stranger's identity hidden is a risk, but she's got secrets of her own to keep.

TO CATCH A THIEF
Sir Richard Harmsworth fakes a rakish facade to show society that he doesn't care about his bastard status. Yet haunted by his unknown father's identity, Richard believes the Harmsworth Jewel will prove he's the rightful heir. Intent on seducing the stone away from its owner, Richard finds himself face-to-face with a beauty more breathtaking than any jewel. But even as she steals Richard's heart, Genevieve will be in greater danger than her coveted treasure . . .
