Review: Chasing Mr. Wrong by Joya Ryan + Music Selection

I LOVE this series! Granted, this is only my second time reading a book in the Chasing Love series but dayum are they hot and fun, just like I like them! I even picked a song for this particular couple too!

Format: .mobi (A copy of this book was provided by the publisher via NetGalley for the purpose of an honest review. )
Publisher: Entangled - Brazen
Release Date: September 7, 2015

Who needs Mr. Right when you can have the perfect Mr. Wrong?

Ryder Diamond-the town's golden boy-doesn't have time for taking chances, let alone love. Against his better judgment, he lets his buddies set him up on a blind date with a girl who's only passing through town. But temporary or not, Whitney James sets fire to desires he can't control.

Before they know it, Ryder and Whitney are in a supply closet, drowning in lust. She's only in town for the summer-what better way to spend it than in the arms of Mr. Perfect? Except, she's wild and free, and he's Mr. Stability. Which means he may as well be Mr. Wrong.

And her new job? It's with Ryder's sister.

Sex and the inability to keep their hands off each other are the only things they have in common. But this little hook-up has "disaster" written all over it...and the only way Ryder can save his reputation is by avoiding the sweet little firecracker who could ruin it all.

Chasing Mr. Wrong never felt so right! I’ve been waiting for what seems like forever for the next book in the Chasing Love series by Joya Ryan. I can’t believe I missed out on the first two books in the series!

So, it’s a case of mistaken identity that leads small town golden boy Ryder Diamond to a one night stand with the free spirited Whitney. Thinking it’s a one and done, Ryder doesn’t expect to see the Whitney in of all places, his small town of Diamond (Yes, Ryder is one of THE Diamonds), much less working for his sister Penny for the summer. Ryder and Whitney’s one night quickly turns into a can’t-keep-my-hands-off-you affair. Complicating matters is Ryder’s reputation as a solid good guy and of course his name. Ryder figures that since Whitney is only in town for the summer their affair will be short lived. Poor delusional guy.

Whitney was a firecracker that’s for sure! She challenged Ryder’s calm, cool, good guy persona (In other words, his public persona was boring as hell) with her brand of charismatic, whimsical freedom. She wasn’t scatterbrained, in fact, she was a very responsible and sweet person but she just didn’t get the appeal of pretending to be something she wasn’t. I just adored the ways she let Ryder know in no uncertain terms that she wanted him, not the fake Ryder the town knew but the real Ryder that was *cough* down and dirty in the sack and knew how to have fun. These two had some seriously h-o-t chemistry.

Ryder was adorable in a sexy, unsure way. He was burned by a woman who unleashed his wild side before but while he learned a harsh lesson about women who wanted only his name and money, it didn’t kill that side of him that liked to take control in the bedroom. Which really, I can only say “Oh thank goodness” because this guy is seriously something else!

Unlike most small town romances, Chasing Mr. Wrong didn’t feature over the top nosey citizens for which I was grateful. I just can’t stand a cast of thousands in anyromance, much less ones who feel they’re “experts” in another person’s life. Not even Ryder’s sister Penny or his buddies were inclined to offer unwanted advice until the end. So these two had to figure things out on their own. Though there was a scene with Ryder, Penny and Penny’s husband Bass that had me chuckling out loud.

Chasing Mr. Wrong is only the second book by Joya Ryan that I’ve read but I do think the heat factor was a bit higher this time around. So far, my reading experience with this author has been smooth. This book, like the previous, was quick to read, I couldn’t put it down once I started! If anyone has read the Chasing Love series from the beginning, tell me: Does the sexiness increase with each book or is it just me?

Final Verdict: I can't wait for the next book!
