She was hired to clean up his image. He wants nothing more than to get her dirty.

Watching sex tapes at the office is just part of PR professional Vivian Blake's job, especially when she has to clean up a celebrity's image. Except that her newest client isn't quite that easy. Racecar driver Jarod Cage is beyond hot, and his onscreen "performance" is already compromising Viv's cool professionalism.

While Jarod hasn't exactly been discreet about his personal life, he never thought his reputation could cost him both his sponsor and his racing career. Now he has to put his future in the hands of a tiny, pixie-like publicist. Which is becoming a problem, because the heat between them is about to redline. But when you go this hard and fast, putting on the brakes is the most dangerous thing you can do...

So basically a bad boy racecar driver gets caught with his pants down literally and PR professional is hired to “clean up” his image. Sparks fly and they both have to come to terms with their personal baggage and the possibility of a real relationship.

Okay so here’s the reason why Caught bugged me so much: Vivian was supposed to be a professional PR agent and yet she kept saying and doing the STUPIDEST things. Sure, she set up some events to make him look good but it was the lack of information on her client’s CAREER that had me going “Really girl? Are you stupid or something?!” I mean, here she was helping a racecar driver with his image yet she didn’t know a damn thing about the profession, leading her to stick her foot in her mouth again and again. Are. You. Kidding. Me?

That leads to problem number two: If Jarod saw how incompetent and ill prepared she was in terms of her knowledge of his career, WHY THE HECK DID HE CONTINUE WITH HER AS HIS PR AGENT?! Was he suffering from the same case of stupid as Vivian? Because seriously dude, this is your career we’re talking about, not some replaceable hobby! So many times I wanted to pull my hair out in frustration with how careless he was by keeping Vivian on as his PR agent. I totally questioned his intelligence and his taste in women. Not to mention his explosive temper that lead him to do and say idiotic things.

As a couple I felt that Jarod and Vivian didn’t even try to convince me that they were hot and heavy for each other. There may have been a few heated moment between them but then they were suddenly living like brother and sister in the same house. It was weird to me. With both of them being so unprofessional and childish, I felt like I was babysitting these characters instead of watching a romance unfold. Neither character won me over. They were unprofessional, incompetent and petulant. The story was a good one but the characters’ behavior destroyed any enjoyment I would have had.

Aside from the setting, Caught wasn’t a good read for me so it might be some time before I think about trying this author again.

Final Verdict: I felt like both characters needed a good spanking. And not the sexual kind, the disciplinary kind.
