Favorite Character Friday: The Big Kahuna

Favorite Character Friday is a weekly meme hosted by Adria's Romance Reviews that gives readers a chance to celebrate their favorite characters!

Why a weekly meme? Because really, with millions of books out there and more coming out every week, characters are like potato chips, you can't have just one.

How it works: Every week you pick one of your favorite characters and tell everyone who it is, what book they're from and WHY they're one of your favorite characters. Be sure to include the blurb and book cover as well! Share the love and maybe someone will read that same book and see why that character is one of your favorites! Unlike the Book Boyfriend meme (which was a great meme), your Favorite Character Fridays choice can be male or female!

Favorite Character: Acheron

Book Title & Author: The Dark Hunter Series by Sherrilyn Kenyon (Appearances), Acheron (His story)

Why is this character your favorite (Feel free to include a favorite quote or scene)?
How can you not love a mysterious character who, from his very first appearance created so much mystery, so much curiosity and so much lust in readers that with every book that was released, those same readers all but salivated at the possibility that he’d make an appearance. Kenyon made Acheron so damn appealing but at the same time, so damn dangerous that I, along with thousands of other readers kept coming back for more! I wanted to know everything about this character that almost no character in the series knew anything about. Who was he? Where did he come from? Why did he have such a strange relationship with a goddess? Was he or wasn’t he a Dark Hunter? It took over a dozen books or so for all those questions to be answered in Acheron, one of the longest books I have ever read and one of only five books in which I enjoyed every. Single. Page. The mystery of Acheron was finally solved and it was more bloody, more heartbreaking and more complicated than I had ever imagined.

Acheron himself is eleven thousand years of uncontrollable power, hard earned wisdom, tragedy and sarcasm wrapped up in a 21 year old body. His aloof public persona hides a tortured, emotionally unstable god masquerading as one of the night time warriors he tries so hard to protect. How could I not love this guy? The ultimate brooding hero! Physically he stood out like a sore thumb but he was all caught up with and enjoyed the inventions of the present day. I just loved how he was still learning about life at 11,000 years old. He still made mistakes, some of them so horrible that they changed the very lives he tried to protect. His snark is infectious and his wisdom legendary. If you only read one (Okay two but that’s for a different post) book in the Dark Hunter series, read Ash’s book. But I warn you, it’s more fun to meet and experience Acheron from the very beginning. The anticipation and desire for answers about his past might kill you but it will make for one exciting time as you make your way towards Acheron. Let’s hope the blurb doesn’t kill you with anticipation though ;)

Book Cover/Blurb:

The most anticipated story in the blockbuster Dark-Hunter series. The never-before-revealed story of the Dark-Hunter leader, Acheron. He was made human in order to escape death, but in death he was reborn a god. . .

Eleven thousand years ago a god was born. Cursed into the body of a human, Acheron spent a lifetime of shame. However, his human death unleashed an unspeakable horror that almost destroyed the earth. Then, brought back against his will, Acheron became the sole defender of mankind.

Only it was never that simple. For centuries, he has fought for our survival and hidden a past he’ll do anything to keep concealed. Until a lone woman who refuses to be intimidated by him threatens his very existence.
Now his survival, and ours, hinges on hers and old enemies reawaken and unite to kill them both.
War has never been more deadly... or more fun.

That way, you can just leave a comment every week and others can just click on your link to see your latest FCF! Easy right?
