Another author who writes sexy as sin stories with fun characters? Yes please! Do I have any Codi Gary fans here? I read this novella and can't wait to try another of her books soon!
An obsessive bookworm, CODI GARY likes to write sexy small-town contemporary romances with humor, grand gestures, and blush-worthy moments.
When she’s not writing, she can be found reading her favorite authors, squealing over her must-watch shows, and playing with her children.
She lives in Idaho with her family.

Fact: Ryan Ashton has never been the hottest girl in the room.
Prim and proper doesn't really lend itself to sexy, but Ryan's okay with that. She's come to terms with her perpetual single status. Or at least she would have, if it weren't for her deliciously gorgeous boss.
Fact: Gregg Phillips is sex on a stick.
And Ryan knows that if she wants him to sit up and take notice of her, she's gotta take a chance … and ditch the frumpy librarian look she's been rocking for way too long. It's gonna take a whole new wardrobe and the help of the local sex kitten to make it happen, but Ryan's up for it. After all, true love is worth the trouble—and that's a fact.
Do you know what the trouble with sexy is?
Well not much but when it’s Codi Gary’s novella, The Trouble with Sexy, the trouble is that when it’s over, it’s like realizing you’ve eaten the last cookie and you’re still craving sweets.
Photographer Ryan Ashton isn’t nearly as happy with her prim and proper image as she tries to believe. If it wasn’t for her crush on her boss Gregg, then she’d resign herself to the single life. Since she hasn’t given up entirely, she decides to ditch her old wardrobe and ask the local “sexy girl” for advice. Not only does a new wardrobe make Gregg notice Ryan, it brings out her inner tough girl and gives her a new look on life.
Looks were deceiving with Ryan. She started off shy, quiet and very boring but she was really a daring and temperamental woman. I loved how her shyness took a backseat to her anger in certain situations and that she let Gregg have it with both barrels whenever he said something stupid. Those flashes of temper made her way more interesting and compatible with Gregg than I originally thought she would be. I loved her transformation. Author Codi Gary made Ryan’s decision to change her wardrobe start off as a ploy to get Gregg’s attention but it quickly became more about Ryan learning to make her own choices that would make her happy. The only thing that changed about Ryan was her clothes, her attitude was already there, she just needed the confidence to let her real self show. It was great!
As the hero of the story, Gregg isn’t an overwhelming presence. He’s calm, kind and caring but since he’s also a man, he tends to stick his big foot in his mouth with Ryan. He just didn’t know how to handle Ryan’s transformation from the frumpy, shy girl to a sexy, confident and sometimes confrontational woman. At the end though, he finally understands just what he’s been clueless about all along: That Ryan is still the same woman as before and that he doesn’t know her as well as he thought he did and he decided he wanted to know who she really was.
The Trouble with Sexy originally appeared in the anthology Kiss Me but that doesn’t mean it isn’t a perfect, quick read just in time for Valentine’s Day.
Final Verdict: Get into Valentine's Day with The Trouble with Sexy.
