Favorite Character Friday #1: The debut

Favorite Character Friday is a weekly meme hosted by Adria's Romance Reviews that gives readers a chance to celebrate their favorite characters!

Why a weekly meme? Because really, with millions of books out there and more coming out every week, characters are like potato chips, you can't have just one.

How it works: Every week you pick on of your favorite characters and tell every one who it is, what book they're from and WHY they're one of your favorite characters. Share the love and maybe someone will read that same book and see why that character is one of your favorites! Be sure to link back to Adria's Romance Reviews and share the link there in the comments (If the meme gets bigger, then a linky form will be added).

Favorite Character: Sebastian, the Viscount St. Vincent
Book Title & Author: Devil in Winter by Lisa Kleypas
Why is this character your favorite? My first official book boyfriend, Sebastian was about as rotten as you can get in the previous book yet there was something that called to me about him. Underneath that womanizing, selfish exterior lurked the heart of a man who wanted so desperately to be loved by a woman who would stay with him always. His unusual courtship and his denial of the love he began to feel for his reluctant wife is the stuff historical romance should be made of.

Book Cover/Blurb:

A devil's bargain

Easily the shyest Wallflower, Evangeline Jenner stands to become the wealthiest, once her inheritance comes due. Because she must first escape the clutches of her unscrupulous relatives, Evie has approached the rake Viscount St. Vincent with a most outrageous proposition: marriage!

Sebastian's reputation is so dangerous that thirty seconds alone with him will ruin any maiden's good name. Still, this bewitching chit appeared, unchaperoned, on his doorstep to offer her hand. Certainly an aristocrat with a fine eye for beauty could do far worse.

But Evie's proposal comes with a condition: no lovemaking after their wedding night. She will never become just another of the dashing libertine's callously discarded broken hearts -- which means Sebastian will simply have to work harder at his seductions...or perhaps surrender his own heart for the very first time in the name of true love.

  1. Oh Sebastian. He is totally book boyfriend worthy. I think Lisa Kleypas really kicks butt in the redeemed hero thing. Turning a jerk into someone amazing.

Also, this is such a fun post idea! Maybe sometime I could participate?

  2. He was and still is one of my absolute favorite heroes ever! I didn't even think he was redeemable to be honest but wow!

And I would love to have you and any one else participate!
