Book Blind Date #60
Book Blind Date is something that Danielle from Book Whore Blog and I decided to start after seeing a Facebook post on the Lawrence Public Library Page about a book blind date. This really got us thinking, what if the only thing you new about a book was what the story was about? No character names, no pretty covers to suck you in.
Here's how it works, you know the old saying never judge a book by its cover? Well you won't be able to, for this meme you are going to decide which book you would go on a "date" with based on the synopsis. Names and identifying phrases are removed just to make things fair. The only rule is: No Googling the synopsis, you have to pick a "date" based on what you read below.
Last Week's Blind Dates:
Blind Date #1
M**** B****** dreads returning to her hometown of Hope for her sister’s wedding, especially knowing she’ll have to endure a weekend with the one man she never wants to see again. It’s only a couple of days, so M**** will try to forget her painful past with high school sweetheart C***** R*******. Because despite the bitter memories, she still can’t forget what they once meant to each other.
But when M**** is forced to extend her stay, C***** sees this as his second chance to do things right, to start over again with the only woman he’s ever loved. This time, he isn’t going to let M**** run. Together they’re going to confront the past and put it behind them, and hope for a future as bright as the flame that still burns hot between them.
Blind Date #2
E**** D*** has thrown himself into the role as the sixth I-Ops team member and has forged a brotherhood of sorts with the other men. When he’s asked to go on a solo mission for the PSI Branch (Paranormal Security and Intelligence) he’s not so sure he wants his old job back.
I**** N*** is a survivor, doing what she must to get by. On the run for years, from an organization she doesn’t fully understand, she tries to stay below the radar. When a blond hunk arrives and claims he’s her savoir, she suspects her luck might have finally run out. Sure, he’s hot and looks like he’d be good in bed but there is something almost magical about him that defies reality. And if there is one thing she’s learned in her life in the paranormal underground it’s you never trust a magik.
Each Monday you can join in and set up your own book blind date. Just link back to this blog and Danielle's blog. To join in just try the following.
1. Select a 2 books to be the "blind dates"
2. Set them up without the covers so readers can pick without ever seeing the beauty of the cover.
3. Star out the names. **** That way if readers have heard of the characters they aren't prejudice.
4. Link up each Monday. And post the cover to your previous weeks blind dates.
5. Join in and select which blind date you would choose in others match ups.
