Book Blind Date #59
Book Blind Date is something that Danielle from Book Whore Blog and I decided to start after seeing a Facebook post on the Lawrence Public Library Page about a book blind date. This really got us thinking, what if the only thing you new about a book was what the story was about? No character names, no pretty covers to suck you in.
Here's how it works, you know the old saying never judge a book by its cover? Well you won't be able to, for this meme you are going to decide which book you would go on a "date" with based on the synopsis. Names and identifying phrases are removed just to make things fair. The only rule is: No Googling the synopsis, you have to pick a "date" based on what you read below.
Last Week's Blind Dates:
Blind Date #1
An undercover DEA agent has gone off the radar. Suspecting an internal mole, the government needs L*** D***** and his elite team of operatives to recover their man, and the New Orleans native thinks he’s found his way inside the dark underbelly of Manhattan: O***** T*****, the girlfriend of a mob boss and the sexiest woman he’s ever laid eyes on. His new mission objective? Get past O*****’s defenses and convince her to take a chance—on him.
All O***** wanted was to finish law school and live a normal life, but that dream was shattered when one dangerous night put her deeply in a mobster’s debt. Now L*** and his team will help her escape—in exchange for intel on the missing agent. But O***** doesn’t anticipate her intense attraction to the reckless Louisiana charmer or that she’ll be forced to risk everything—including her heart.
Blind Date #2
As an heiress from a prominent family, M*** knows the pain of living under a microscope. Which is why she loves her sleepy Key West home where nobody knows her name. She’s determined to make her way without being coddled—and no mugging is going to change that.
Former Marine and newest Red Stone Security employee A******** B*** has seen enough bloodshed to last a lifetime—or ten. He’s ready for civilian life, but when he sees a mysterious brunette attacked by a mugger, his need to protect kicks into overdrive. M***, the sensual artist he saved, brings him home and bandages him up, but her gaze cuts clear to his soul. An intense connection isn’t all B*** feels—there was something strange about that mugging; he’s convinced M*** is in danger and needs his protection. Just one problem: M*** doesn’t want saving.
