Book Blind Date #55
Book Blind Date is something that Danielle from Book Whore Blog and I decided to start after seeing a Facebook post on the Lawrence Public Library Page about a book blind date. This really got us thinking, what if the only thing you new about a book was what the story was about? No character names, no pretty covers to suck you in.
Here's how it works, you know the old saying never judge a book by its cover? Well you won't be able to, for this meme you are going to decide which book you would go on a "date" with based on the synopsis. Names and identifying phrases are removed just to make things fair. The only rule is: No Googling the synopsis, you have to pick a "date" based on what you read below.
Last Week's Blind Dates:
Sweet Revenge: A Nemesis Unlimited Novel
Tristan's Lyceum Wolves (Immortals of New Orleans Book 3)
Blind Date #1
NYPD sniper M*** D****** is in Hell. Instead of driving his best friend’s little sister home from college, he’s stuck with her roommate—a fresh-faced ray-of-sunshine with a body that makes grown men weep. There’s no way he’ll allow himself to taint the little vixen, no matter how hard she tries to tempt him, so he resigns himself to the longest—and hardest—drive of his life.
M***’s obvious attraction suits grad student L*** M**** just fine. She had no idea her brother’s best friend was so deliciously hot. Knowing he’d never have his wicked way with his buddy’s sister, she lies about her identity and seduces him. But M***’s no fumbling college boy. His desires run deep—and dark—and he wants to teach L*** what wicked really means.
M***’s demanding appetites only make L*** want more. But when her cover's blown, he’s furious—even as his hunger for her becomes insatiable. M*** can’t trust anyone, least of all himself. And he knows all too well that darkness always destroys the light…
Blind Date #2
D**** W******* is the wife of an English naval hero, daughter of a naval hero—she’s had quite enough of heroes, thank you. So when J**** A******, Southern gentleman pirate hunter and thorn in the side of the British navy, abducts her from a tedious house party and spirits her off to his ship, she lets him know what she thinks of heroes.
J**** interrogates her about the tiny island of Haven her father owns, where D**** and her father and deaf daughter retreat to escape the world. D**** resists, knowing that Captain A****** is an enemy of the English. But when A****** pins her to the wall of his cabin and asks her to sail away with him, sparks fly, and the temptation is great. But though D**** is an unhappily married woman, she has a daughter who needs her, and she refuses.
J**** knows the island of Haven holds the secret to the pirate he’s been hunting for years. He can’t bend the beautiful Lady W******* to his will, though J**** is intrigued by this woman of unquenchable fire. He lets her go, learning nothing. But he’s pleased to find himself stranded on Haven the following year, D**** W******* now a widow, and the sparks between them just as hot . . .
