Book Blind Date #53
Book Blind Date is something that Danielle from Book Whore Blog and I decided to start after seeing a Facebook post on the Lawrence Public Library Page about a book blind date. This really got us thinking, what if the only thing you new about a book was what the story was about? No character names, no pretty covers to suck you in.
Here's how it works, you know the old saying never judge a book by its cover? Well you won't be able to, for this meme you are going to decide which book you would go on a "date" with based on the synopsis. Names and identifying phrases are removed just to make things fair. The only rule is: No Googling the synopsis, you have to pick a "date" based on what you read below.
Last Week's Blind Dates:
The MacGregor's Lady (MacGregor Series)
When the Duke Was Wicked (Scandalous Gentlemen of St. James)
Blind Date #1
As the eldest son of the Duke of Breconridge, H**** F****** is duty-bound to marry—and marry well. Giving up his rakish ways for the pleasures of a bride’s bed becomes a delightful prospect when H**** chooses beautiful Lady J**** Barclay, the catch of the season. But a fall from his horse puts a serious crimp in his plans. Abandoned by J**** before he can propose, the unlucky bachelor finds himself trapped in the country in the care of J****’s younger sister.
H**** has never met a woman like Lady A******. Utterly without artifice, G** is clever and capable, and seems to care not a fig for society. After a taboo kiss awakens passion that takes them both by surprise, H**** realizes he’d almost given his heart to the wrong sister. While London tongues wag, he’ll use his most seductive powers of persuasion to convince the reluctant G** that she belongs with him—as his equal, his love, his wife.
Blind Date #2
Sexy cowboy-scholar J****** C***** always knows exactly what he wants and how to get it. And after sauntering back home to Cupid, he’s shocked to discover that he wants Z** M*******. After years from home, he takes one new look at his bubbly best friend, with her lightning smarts and luscious body, and it hits him like a bolt: she’s his somebody to love and he’s not leaving town again without her.
Settling down always seemed like a time waster to Z**, a man magnet with a trail of broken hearts behind her. She’s not meant to settle down—but how can she resist someone as persuasive as J******? There’s no way they can ignore the explosive chemistry seething between them . . . even if it means risking their friendship . . .
