Yay! Today I have author Roni Loren on the blog talking about her latest release Need You Tonight as part of her blog tour. Of course, there's a giveaway at the end so be sure to enter! First though, a little about Roni Loren:
If she’s not working on her latest sexy story, you can find her reading, watching reality television, or indulging in her unhealthy addiction to rockstars, er, rock concerts. Yeah, that's it. She is the National Bestselling Author of The Loving on the Edge series from Berkley Heat.
Find Roni Loren:
Hi Roni! Thanks for stopping by to chat with me! I'm sorry for that chain saw like noise, I'm an animal person and it's probably my dragon sawing wood. *Looks around* yep, there's the culprit:
Sorry about that.
Adria: So Roni, for readers who are unfamiliar with your books can you tell us a little about Need You Tonight?
Roni: Sure! NEED YOU TONIGHT is the fifth book in my Loving on the Edge series, which is a BDSM erotic romance series set in Texas. But don’t worry if you haven’t read the others because though there are recurring characters, each book can stand alone and has a wrapped up happy ending (no cliffhangers!). And NEED YOU TONIGHT is about Kade and Tessa who had a relationship in high school but things went really wrong and now they run in to each other again as adults.
Adria: According to the blurb for Need You Tonight, as a teen Kade wasn’t shall we say, as studly and confident as he is as an adult, did you base him off of someone in your life?
Roni: I didn’t base him on anyone specifically, but I was the quiet nerdy girl in school so I hung out with the crowd that wasn’t exactly the “popular” one, lol. And I’m always drawn to people and characters who don’t quite fit in. I think it makes people more interesting. So I thought, what if this guy who is Mr. Suave now was the complete opposite in high school? How could he have made this transformation? And Kade was born.☺
Adria: What would you say was Kade’s best quality? What about his worst?
Roni: Kade, despite his dominance, feels things very deeply—a heart on his sleeve kind of guy. And I love that about him. That’s what he preserved from those high school days. As for his worst, he can be supremely hard-headed and stubborn.
Adria: What do you think it is about the BDSM element that has readers captivated?
Roni: I think, particularly for women, that we’re so busy and have so much responsibility in our daily lives, that it’s nice to think about relinquishing that control in some situations to some sexy guy who will rock your world. Plus, there’s always appeal in things perceived as forbidden and BDSM has a lot of those elements. By reading it, we can “try” it without actually trying it. Though, actually trying can be a lot of fun, too, lol.
Adria: What has been one of your best fan interactions? What about that interaction was so memorable?
Roni: I remember the first time I was at one of the big signings at RWA Nationals and someone pointed my direction and did the “OMG, it’s her!” thing. And I totally looked behind me to see what big time author must be walking by, lol. It took me a while to figure out she was actually that excited to see me. I hugged her and was like, “You’re the first person who’s ever fangirled me!”
Adria: What authors do you like to read on your spare time?
Roni: I read a lot in my genre so some of my autobuys are Maya Banks, Shayla Black, and Tiffany Reisz. But I also love New Adult and YA. One of my fave reads of last year was Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell. And if anyone’s interested, I keep track of everything I read on Pinterest.
Adria: What is the oddest thing you have looked up in the name of research, or you know, for fun?
Roni: Oh, gawd. I look up some crazy stuff in the name of book research, lol. This month I’ve researched butt plugs, Christmas buffets in Chicago hotels, and silencers for guns. So God help me if anyone ever digs through my internet history.
Adria: How about some fun questions to wrap up the interview? I promise nothing painful… I don’t think.
Adria: Favorite snack?
Roni: Sweet & Hot Beef Jerky
Adria: Favorite song?
Roni: Ack, I’m a music whore so it’s impossible to pick one. But lately, I’ve been listening to Fall Out Boy’s “My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark” way too much.
Adria: Wine or Beer?
Roni: Depends on the night and what I’m eating. I’m a fan of both.
Adria: Original tv shows or reality shows?
Roni: I watch both, but there’s nothing like a well-written original TV Show. Current faves: The Walking Dead, Two Broke Girls, and Masters of Sex
Adria: Favorite movie?
Roni: Dirty Dancing
Adria: Is there anything else you’d like to add Roni? Thanks so much for stopping by to chat and best of luck with Need You Tonight!
Roni: Thanks for inviting me!
About the Book:
She’s making a wish list, and he wants to be on top.
From foster kid to trophy wife, Tessa McAllen is about to reinvent herself all over again—and defy every insult her cheating ex-husband ever used against her: Selfish? She’s championing a charity. Stupid? She’s getting her degree.
Boring in bed?
Kade Vandergriff can help her with that one. When they encounter each other at a singles event held at one of his restaurants, Tessa blurts out that kink is for girls who try too hard, and Kade instantly wants to show this sassy stranger how thrilling a night under his command can be ...but when he learns her name, the game changes for both of them.
In high school, Tessa was the popular girl who stuttering, awkward Kade fell for. But she chose another. Now, as she eagerly learns lesson after lesson, he’s going to make sure she never forgets him again.
