Revenge is sweet...
Self-made billionaire Alex Damon wants his pound of flesh from the people who ripped his family apart. When he discovers his enemies' daughter is working at his company -- and most likely spying for them--he decides to start his revenge by seducing her.
Natalie Hall is stunned at the personal interest from the CEO of her company. Vulnerable, with an already bruised heart, she wants to avoid any involvement--but she can't deny the desire he arouses in her.
...but love is sweeter...
What should've been a straightforward eye-for-an-eye starts to unravel as Natalie's unflinching loyalty and kindness begin to thaw Alex's cold intent. But caring for her is unthinkable...since he plans to use everything in his power to ruin her family and everyone else she holds dear.
This is why you shouldn't ignore those freebies on Amazon! Yes, Vengeful in Love is another "Amazon Freebie" success for me! True, it doesn't happen often but when it does it's so worth it!
What surprised me the most about this particular book is that it's main male lead is a billionaire and I didn't hate his guts! Right now the trend in contemporary is the billionaire overbearing jack ass meets stupidly "innocent," supposedly independent woman and proceeds to "dominate" her in and out of bed.
This does not appeal to me in any shape or form so a likable billionaire that didn't have a penchant for BDSM is part of what made Vengeful in Love such an awesome read for me. Alex is still an alpha male, he just doesn't need props or a awful attitude to prove it. He's sexy, and at the beginning, his only thought is on his revenge but there's a lot more to Alex than just his money, looks and vengeance.
A heroine who is independent and has a successful career but isn't man crazy is a great way to describe Natalie. I loved how she was a hard worker but never stepped on anyone to get to where she was at in life. She carried around deep insecurities but didn't let them show often. Between her and Alex, Natalie had the bigger obstacles to overcome as well as the most shocking revelation about her origins. She was funny and feminine without going overboard and she matched Alex's stubbornness with her own.
Vengeful in Love didn't skip out on the heat either! Alex and Natalie have an immediate attraction to one another that doesn't fit into either of their plans. There's enough conflict and drama to make the story interesting but not too much to distract readers from Alex and Natalie's romance.
I did develop a bit of a crush on Alex's friend, Ethan and since he has his own book, this book worm is going to have to find that extra bit of cash to get her hands on him, er, his book.
Final Verdict: Vengeful in Love strikes the right balance for me, it was a pleasant surprise as now I have more of author Nadia Lee's books to look forward to. It's always a great feeling when I discover a new to me author!
