Book Blind Date #49

Book Blind Date is something that Danielle from Book Whore Blog and I decided to start after seeing a Facebook post on the Lawrence Public Library Page about a book blind date. This really got us thinking, what if the only thing you new about a book was what the story was about? No character names, no pretty covers to suck you in.

Here's how it works, you know the old saying never judge a book by its cover? Well you won't be able to, for this meme you are going to decide which book you would go on a "date" with based on the synopsis. Names and identifying phrases are removed just to make things fair. The only rule is: No Googling the synopsis, you have to pick a "date" based on what you read below.

Last Week's Blind Dates:

Blind Date #1

Everything’s coming together for budding fashion designer C******* P******. Only months away from having her own line, she could use some publicity. That’s when her brother suggests his best friend as a model—hockey player D*** H****.

C******* and D*** already have a history—a hot one, back in college. Unforgettable for C*******, but for D***, just another slap shot. This time, though, it’s different. His perfect body would be for professional use only. This time, she could use him.

D*** is all for it. He’s looking forward to the exposure. Plus, it would give him a chance to prove to C******* that he’s changed. If only he could thaw her emotions, convince her to let down her guard and let him in just one more time…

Blind Date #2
All E**** S****** wanted was to convince the man she had adored for years that she was the woman he ought to marry. She never expected that her ill-fated deception at a party would uncover a scheme against the Crown and ensnare her in the sensual trap of an enigmatic stranger.

D***** B********, the Earl of Shalcross, knows he must marry E**** to defend her honor and keep his mission secret. But, by saving her reputation, he will draw her into his arms as well as a dangerous intrigue.

After a whirlwind courtship that leaves her breathless, E**** finds herself wed to a husband who vows not only to protect her from his menacing world—but to train his wife in the pleasures of passion.

Each Monday you can join in and set up your own book blind date. Just link back to this blog and Danielle's blog. To join in just try the following.

1. Select a 2 books to be the "blind dates"

2. Set them up without the covers so readers can pick without ever seeing the beauty of the cover.

3. Star out the names. **** That way if readers have heard of the characters they aren't prejudice.

4. Link up each Monday. And post the cover to your previous weeks blind dates.

5. Join in and select which blind date you would choose in others match ups.
