My Favorite Author: Larissa Ione

undefined
Welcome! This is a new, monthly feature here on the blog. Every month I talk about one of the authors on my list of "Favorites." I'll tell you why they're one of my favorites and in some cases, how I discovered them. Then, as my gift to you, I will give you a chance to win your choice of e-book by that month's author. At the end of the month I will chose one person and they will get to pick what book they'd like. So read on and don't forget to fill out the form at the end!

Wow, can you believe it's December already? I can't, I'm a little sad that the year is almost over (and that winter is barely starting in my neck of the woods) but one thing I can tell you is that I am over the moon excited about, in my opinion, one of the most anticipated books of the year:

Reaver.

Yep, that mysterious, bad boy angel who has had me at the edge of my seat for years! That's right my fellow bookworms, this month's pick from my list of favorite authors is none other than the super talented Larissa Ione! You know what that means right? Yep, the winner gets to pick what book they want by Larissa, and that includes Reaver. You definitely don't want to miss out this month. So read on my fellow Demonica/Lords of Deliverance fans!

Larissa Ione is yet another author that I accidentally found while browsing a used bookstore, I saw the cover for Pleasure Unbound and thought "Hmm, now THAT looks interesting!" I'd never read a romance with a demon for a hero, all my paranormal romance experience had been limited to fangs and fur (aka vampires and werewolves) and though I pictured some scaly, horned creature I still bought the book. I had money and I was loose in a bookstore, what did you expect me to do?!

One does not simply walk out of a bookstore empty handed! It is folly!

Still, Pleasure Unbound sat on my makeshift bed (the sofa) for a few more days until I finally picked it up out of curiosity and started reading.

Best. Decision. Ever.

I was amazed at the world Larissa Ione created for her characters. The idea that a demon world could run parallel to the human one was fascinating as was the red hot chemistry between Tayla and Eidolon, two characters from opposite sides of the human/demon war. By the time I finished Pleasure Unbound I was kicking myself in the ass for not buying the next two books in the series, but like all book lovers, I had a plan...

That totally backfired when I ended up at the bookstore on the one day they closed. So I had to wait until the following week and thankfully everything went off without a hitch. That was back in 2010 and I've been devouring her books ever since. How could I not? Larissa writes amazing stories and even more amazing heroines! I have yet to meet a heroine of hers that didn't kick some serious ass. And can I just mention that sarcastic, devil may care attitude problem that is Wraith? After Passion Unleashed I didn't think things could get any better but I was so glad to be wrong.

When the first Lords of Deliverance book came out, I didn't know what to think. The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse? A female Horseman? My first reaction when I read the blurb to Eternal Rider was "Seriously? How the heck can biblical figures be sexy?"

Once again Larissa took otherwise uninteresting figures of literature and turned them into fascinating characters embroiled in a dark and bloody battle and I loved every second of it! I enjoyed each Horseman but like many, Reseph was my favorite. Rogue Rider was a genius way to end a storyline yet raise enough questions to begin another. There's nothing I like more than a truly tortured bad boy trying to make amends...

Unless it's a mysterious angel with a habit of disobeying orders and a murky past.

That brings me to Reaver which I'm dying to read and can't wait until it's released so I can buy it, read it and talk about it on the blog. I have a feeling that Larissa Ione is going to outdo herself with this one. It's why she's on my Favorite Authors list and my Personalized, Signed Book list.

So which book would you pick if you won?

  1. Ahh I love her books too! It's amazing what a used bookstore can cause. lol I've picked up a few that I'd never have found otherwise and like you then devoured everything else ;) My first were her erotica ones as Sydney Croft. I found one at the used store too and loved em. They were in my first batch of erotica reads and yeah I've been hooked since. Great pick for Dec! 34. I am a huge fan of Ms. Ione's work. She is in my top 5 favorite authors. Her books are so amazingly written, they are sexy, dark, gritty and highly addictive. It would be hard for me to pick just one since I've loved them all. I highly recommend this her series to everyone. I can't wait for Reaver been eagerly awaiting it.

  35. So exited to hear Reavers story. He's intrigued me from the get go and has gone from being simply amazing, powerful, gorgeous and untouchable into one who became lovable and approachable, more man/sex God less deity. Glad to see his pov; angels with demons...total win. Never picked up a Larissa Ione book I didn't love!

  36. Larissa keeps rising to the top of my favorite authors' list with each new release. My favorite, probably because they were my "first," is the story of Shade & Runa. I am partial to shifter romance. However, Reaver is the hub that links all of these storylines together, so he runs a very close second! <3

  37. I have read several of her books, and both Eternal Rider and Pleasure Unbound are my favorites!

  45. wow this is cool no matter who wins thanks for doing stuff like this!

    ReplyDelete
  46. I have read and loved both the Demonica and Lords of Deliverance series. Rogue Rider was my favorite, probably because he was the most tormented of all the male protagonists.

    ReplyDelete
  47. That's awesome, I love ferrets, they're so sweet and hilarious to watch. I have plans for my future pets' (though I have no wish to say goodbye to my current ones) names and I don't care what people say :)

    ReplyDelete
  49. Gasp! A newbie! I hope you get the chance to read all her books soon because they're amazing! Definitely one of the top five BEST paranormal romance authors out there.

  50. Gotta agree with you there, Reseph was pretty banged up physically and mentally and wouldn't you know it? That's what makes a character unforgettable to me.
