Blog Tour Stop: Guest Post by Eden Summers + Giveaway

It was by chance that I saw author Eden Summers asking for reviewers for Blind Attraction, her latest release, and, since I was looking for a contemporary romance that revolved around musicians I immediately let her know I was available. Well, now she has a new fan in me and I am delighted to have her on my blog as a guest blogger. So without delay, please welcome Eden Summers!

Starting my first series.

The first story I ever started to write was a contemporary rock star novel. Unfortunately, back then, I didn’t have the experience or confidence to finish writing it. So Ravaged by Deceit is still sitting on my hard drive, unfinished.

Since then I’ve published a short story, a novella, a short novel and signed another contract for a contemp. novella (with a division of Harlequin Australia). So when I started writing Blind Attraction I felt I had the skills to finally give writing a series a go.

See, I’m a little crazy when it comes to doing things right. I couldn’t just start the first story and hope the rest would follow. I had to write down ideas for each of the five novels in the Reckless Beat series. I then had to search for my delicious characters and get to know them. I use images of real people so that I don’t get any details wrong. I’ve got each of their photos, along with their lucky ladies, on my office wall. I also have a Pinterest board. If I have their image in front of me I won’t slip up and say that Mitch had short brown hair, when it is actually shoulder length.

Then I purchased two notebooks and made one my ‘Reckless Beat Bible’ and the other my ‘Reckless Beat Notes’ book.

Every notable detail is in my bible. I have pages set out for each main character. Their picture, age, family members, job, etc. I then have pages for the side characters. Then more pages on each important part of each chapter. Am I starting to sound a little crazy?

Then my notes book is the place where I put all the plot bunnies, the comments I need to add to each story, the brainstorming…yadda yadda yadda. Holy crap, I really am crazy.

But at least you can rest assured that the entire series is mapped out and should *fingers crossed* be accurate towards the characters for all five books.

Blind Attraction
(Reckless Beat #1)
by Eden Summers

He can seduce with a single glance.

Peering down at a sea of fans, rock star, Mitchell Davies can’t deny the innocent beauty of a woman in the front row. He’ll stop at nothing to get to know her. When a public altercation leaves her weak and defenseless, he takes the opportunity to be her savior.

She’s been sheltered from the world.

Alana Shelton wants to spread her wings and experience life away from her restrictive upbringing. But she isn’t prepared for a gorgeous stranger to sweep her off her feet while at her most vulnerable.

Attraction will bring them together, but their pasts will try to tear them apart.

He wants to teach her how to trust, but she’ll show him how to love. In a glamorous world of rock-and-roll, only time will tell if they’re up for the challenge.

  7. Thanks Kimba. It gets a little crazy at times but I want to make sure all the details are accurate. Sometimes I have too many stories running around in my head and although the Reckless men have been in my mind for a long time, I don't want to forget the finer details. So the craziness continues. :)

  9. I hope you enjoy them Anna. I actually had to hide one of my Reckless Pinterest board because I stupidly had all my secrets on it. Who is in which book, who they fall in love with etc etc. And even stupider, I showed some close friends after they fell in love with Blind Attraction. I quickly had to hide it...but now they taunt me. Lol

  10. I love that you use notebooks too. I keep a notebook with character traits of the current book I'm reading. That helps me keep my thoughts in line when I go to write the review.

Blind Attraction sounds wonderful and will definitely be added to my TBR pile.

And I'm totally with you on the notebooks. I am looking at 6 used ones within the last year and at least 3 that are currently being used for various things. Lol. Seems we are all crazy for notebooks! ;)

  15. Ohhh, I love you too, Liz. You should see me office filing cabinet draw. It is stocked - to the top. I can barely open it. All because of my blank notebooks. And I'm obsessed with buying them as well...because having a thousand unused notebooks is never a bad thing :)
