Feature & Follow Friday: Favorite Villains

Q:  Who is your favorite villain from a book?
I love villains! Why? Because a hero/heroine is only as good as the villain is bad. If the villain is no good, the story isn't any good either. There are so many great villains out there but my favorite kind of villain is the redeemable one. You know, the one who spends a few books making other characters' lives miserable and then something happens to them to make them want to be good? Yeah those.

My number one favorite villain is Sebastian, Lord St. Vincent from The Wallflower series by Lisa Kleypas. He is as devious and unfeeling as he is handsome, even going so far as to kidnap the woman his friend is in love with. From the moment he appears, he is a loathsome character. It isn't until the third book, The Devil in Winter that he has a chance to change. However, as with all villains, he doesn't do so willingly.

A close second is Caine from Alexandra Ivy's Guardians of Eternity series. Caine spends most of the series as a cur, a turned werewolf. He believed he was to be the savior of curs, finding a way to turn them into pureblooded weres. A notorious playboy as well, he didn't care what he had to do, who he had to use or kill to further his goal. It took 8 books before Caine had a life changing event and began his path to (semi) redemption.
